PJ finally beat someone good, edging Jimmy Butler to win the prestigious Turkey of the Year award!
 

First upset victory since Wazzu bowl game! Things are trending upward!!!! Do we dare say two in a row (the boat) Saturday?

Certainly predictable but Butler is one of the biggest turkeys this town has ever seen. But we know how Pat feels about pj.

It was too predictable of a choice. But the article read like Reusse actually gives the Gophers a chance on Saturday. Huh.

Reusse was hedging regarding Wisconsin. Listed them as turkeys just in case Fleck beats them.

Yep, predictable given Pat's hatred of Fleck but stupid to give this award to anyone other than Butler.
 

No place like first place. I'm guessing there will be some elite birds being served at Fleck household. Maybe Fleck will toast Reusse and honor him with a huge dump. Call it dropping a Reusse in satisfaction if a good meal.

He might beat the flop of a Wisconsin team Saturday, and join the 70 percent of Power Five teams that make some form of a bowl game, but even that would leave Phil at 5-13 in Big Ten games at Minnesota and in a half-empty stadium that’s the second smallest in the conference.

This is Year 1 in Fleck math, and it’s also Year 1 for The Authentic Turkeys, and the Top TAT turns out to be Philip John Fleck. The Tsar hopes that floats everyone’s boat.
 

TC Media has not given coach Fleck a chance, which is typical of how they treat most sports figures. He has one recruiting class under his belt, and it was a good one. Also not his fault that the previous regime was fired and escorted out of town. Part of the job requirement when hired was to show "culture change" when it in fact was not really needed...(of which I'm sure he is aware) but he's gotta do what he's gotta do (to appease his fickle employers), and he will win here.

If you don't like him enough to bail on your team, don't watch. Your seat will be filled by someone else over the next two years IMO.
 

It should have been Jimmy Butler IMO. However, for some reason this makes me more optimistic that the Gophers will win Saturday.
 




Reusse never misses a chance to take a shot at Gopher football. He should be fired for passing on Jimmy Butler.
 



PJ don't worry about Ruesse, he secretly loves his Gophers. He's just bitter because he fell hook, line and sinker for Brewster, and like it or not your rhetoric sounds similar to his. He's worried about falling in love again so he's going to act like he doesn't like you but deep down he's hoping you succeed.

Reusse sucks. Norwood Teague perpetuated a piss poor culture. Fleck is making a difference...it will show up in the win column soon.

That's classic Fat Pat- always hedges so he never is wrong and throws water on the possibility of positive before it happens.

First- Happy Thanksgiving to fellow posters. Second, Reusse loves Gopher sports but his age group has waited the longest and earned the right to be critical. We gotta get to a Rose Bowl soon and reward these folks who have been there for 40-50 years. He gave the nod to PJ cuz PR knows this thing is about to turn. It starts Saturday.....noleidnernoleidnernoleider second half.

I'd personally have picked Butler, but it is tough to suggest Felck is being treated unfairly when he is 4-13 in big ten games. If Fleck performs better, the media will treat him better.

For whatever reason, I thought he was going to pick “Gopherhole Posters” as his Turkey of the Year.
I was actually surprised that he didn’t. I’ve grown to agree with some things he writes and disagree with most things. He used to infuriate me. Now, I rarely listen to him nor do I read his articles other than the snippets posted here. It’s easy to call him Fat Pat or Fatrick or (insert any vulgarity)...... and I used to do that a lot. I finally realized.......he’s simply not worth my time of day. I don’t question his fandom, his nostalgia for the 1960 Edgerton Basketball team, nor his unwavering love for MN Town Team Baseball ........I simply choose not to care anymore about anything related to him, nor will I read his articles. I did think (based on post reading only)......he’d put posters ....as his Turkey of Year. Whatever.....he has an annual article....good for him.... Back to watching football! Happy Thanksgiving GHs!!! Ski U Mah

Pete, do you believe that alcoholism is a weakness (character flaw) or a disease? There are people on this board whom have said they’re alcoholics. Should they be ridiculed?
