Default Trump Stands With Saudis Despite Khashoggi Killing

I'm shocked that none of our resident independent-thinking Trump lovers have called him out on this yet....

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/20/w...khashoggi.html

WASHINGTON — President Trump defied the nation’s intelligence agencies and a growing body of evidence on Tuesday to declare his unswerving loyalty to Saudi Arabia, asserting that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s culpability for the killing of Jamal Khashoggi might never be known.

In a remarkable statement that appeared calculated to end the debate over the American response to the killing of Mr. Khashoggi, the president said, “It could very well be that the crown prince had knowledge of this tragic event — maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!”

Give them time; they need hear Fox News take first. Trump is putting his own financial interests of the interest of the Country.

But what if Khashoggi was a socialist? It's possible that he said something negative about Drumpf. Was he a democrat?

All stupid reasons for drump to ignore this. Clearly putting his own financial interests as the most important thing. Sad. And we have a bunch of drump cheerleaders here that excuse this away.

How is this America First? Serious question.

I know where Trump is coming from: self interest and reflexive criminality. I struggle to understand how his cult members construe these actions as being in the best interest of the country or even how they're remotely consistent with the themes the guy campaigned on, which included anti-Islam fervor/hate.

He needs the Saudi's to continue to go after Iran. There is nothing the Saudi's could do wrong that would be big enough to ruin the relationship.

    Oil too.

Bottle, I know you'll agree with me on this. Saudi Arabia does this crap all of the time and nobody makes a peep. One journalist/person and thats supposed to end our relationship with SA? Should have happened a long time ago. Trump is showing our hypocrisy right out in the open, unlike our past presidents who did a better job hiding it.

SA doesn't do this to Americans all the time. I think that is the difference here.

He was not. His kids are. Would you like to tell them it's OK their dad got chopped up because SA gave Jared a few million in "loans"?

    Faux outrage ^^^ TDS induced.

Let's all agree that every Middle Eastern nation with Islamic roots has chopped up enemies. Every one of them. I recall our last President making some deals with Iran (stupid ones at that). Saudi Arabia, for all their flaws is probably the best of the nations in that region outside of Israel. Turkey is not to be trusted under Erdogan. This is not Trump saying that he is okay with what SA might have done here, this is him being real about what a mess that area of the world is and looking out for our own American businesses which benefit American citizens. BTW- Khashogi was not really a journalist.

Right. But why this one time? Hell, Tulsi Gabbard couldnt even get the house to vote on if we should stop helping SA with genocide in Yemen. The outrage shouldnt start and end with one person

Nope I wouldnt. My point is why is this guy so important that we should change our ways with SA but not the thousands of other times this has happened. Fake outrage if one killing makes you upset
