What you’ll see below is easily one of the dirtiest plays we’ve ever seen in a college basketball game. It’s a clip sure to go viral in the coming days.

In a game on Monday night between Fitchburg State and Nichols – two Division-III schools in the MASCAC – a player on Fitchburg State appears to just straight up punch a player on Nichols in the face after he takes a three-point shot. Somehow, the referees don’t see it.

No. 23, who is listed in Fitchburg State’s online roster as Kewan Platt, appears to be the aggressor in the situation. Nichols guard Nate Tenaglia appears to be the victim.

Now that’s some streetball thugery right there.

I'm pretty sure that's illegal in UFC and MMA.

Fitchburg State junior guard Kewan Platt has been named the MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

The first-year Falcon earned the award for the first time, averaging 24 points, 12.5 boards and 1.5 assists per game in a 1-1 week for the Green and Gold. Platt registered 15 points, seven rebounds and one steal in an 87-64 setback to Rhode Island College on Thursday before adding a double-double of 33 points and 18 caroms to go along with three assists and two blocks in an 85-74 victory against Lasell College on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State men's basketball team returns to action on Tuesday at it hosts the Bison of Nichols College at 6 p.m.

The official that you can barely see calls it. Bottom of the screen. Good call as I don't think the shooter initiated the contact. Seems to me like the defenders elbow hit his face while he was standing there admiring his made 3.

That looks like literal battery. Like, could-feasibly-be-charged-in-court battery.

Memories of Kermit Washington and Rudy Tomjonovich. Ouch. Methinks there is a backstory here. Hard to believe any player would do something like that completely unprovoked, at least in his own mind. School acted appropriately, though.

My question is what would Coach K have done? The guy is a real competitor you know.

Yes it does. Just because you are on a basketball court doesn't mean you have the right to attack people without legal consequences.
