Here are some video breakdowns of the Gophers' 41-10 win over Purdue. I've embedded the YouTube videos below with some key takeaways. Keep your eyes peeled this week for a story dropping on 1500ESPN where I will dive deeper into the scheme by using several of these examples. There are a few other wrinkles to discuss within the defense and I'll highlight those in the upcoming article! Until then.....

Great stuff. Williamson really caught my eye as well for the first time this season. Especially early in the game he seemed to be all over the field making plays and helping keep Moore in check.

Awesome stuff Daniel. PJ and company said they were simplifying things defensively this weekend. Dropping a DE into coverage, feinting double A gap blitzes, putting Williamson in the box... that doesn't seem that simple to me.

Besides more zone coverage and better execution by seemingly everyone, did you see any big differences this week? Thanks again!

Excellent analysis Daniel. Thanks.

You'll want to check out my most recent post on this topic. I explained how this possibly can be called simplification. As weird as it sounds, this is. Also, thanks to everyone for checking these out. I will likely keep trying to post these each week. To Pete Smith, I'd take an assistant job...maybe in the future!
