NCAA Women’s Basketball Polls

The Gophers received 1 point in the latest AP poll.
Patricia Babcock-McGraw wrote the Gophers in as the 25th ranked team.

Both Rutgers and MSU drop from Top 25. In there place they put a couple of mid-majors, Drake & Rice..... as if those two teams were really better.

Gophers up to 11 pts, or the equivalent of #29 rank.

Adam Minichino ranked Gophers #16 = 10 pts
Kent Youngblood ranked Gophers #25 = 1 pt

Drake beat Rutgers by 10 earlier this season.

Rice is particularly head-scratching. Best win is probably Alabama-Birmingham.

Oregon drops 4 to #6
Kentucky up 5 to #11
ASU drops 4 to #21

SD drops out
UCLA hops on at #25

I thought Minnesota’s AP points might actually rise since they won last week except for a close loss to #8 Maryland, but nope. They drop back down to 4 pts after being at 11 pts last week.

I just want to know how the Gophers could ever have been ranked #12 or #13 when playing that SOs. ??????

It was early and they were undefeated. The wins included a BTN telecast, and much commented on, victory over a very good, ranked, Syracuse team. Syracuse remains a top ten RPI club.
