Syracuse taking and missing a lot of three point shots. 2-17 so far just in the first half.

75-73 OR final
Great close game. Syracuse was down a bunch but never gave up.
Their full court defense could pose problems for the Gophers. Best prepare for it.

In other 'Cuse news: they're legit. Knocked off Texas A and M this evening.

Syracuse plays three in Cancun before their game at Williams.

Today: Kansas State and Christianna Carr
Friday: Princeton
Saturday: DePaul and Rebekah Dahlman

Syracuse University's 14th-ranked women's basketball team is ready for a trio of games at the Cancun Challenge at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Cancun, Mexico Nov. 22-24. The Orange will first play Kansas State 1:30 p.m Thursday. Fans can follow live stats and stream every game live.

At the half it's 40-31 Syracuse over K State. The Orange's 2-3 zone with an occasional press has the Wildcats shooting threes. Unfortunately, K State is 3-15 from behind the arc. Carr has 10 points.

K State picked up the zone D in the 3rd quarter holding the turnover prone Orange to 6 points and emerging with a 48-46 lead. But, Syracuse, hitting threes and driving the lane, ran away in the fourth quarter for a 70-61 win.

Syracuse leads Princeton at the half 49-34. The Orange, who are dominating inside, have 7 three pointers and the Tigers 6. Syracuse's freshman Katiatou Sissoko left the game midway through the first quarter with a left knee injury. She was on the bench with an ice bag on the knee.

At the half Syracuse is up 35-29 over DePaul. In the first quarter DePaul went 0-15 from three and trailed 18-6. Their three point shooting improved in the second quarter, 5-10, and they cut the Orange lead to three before Syracuse opened it up again.

These Syracuse games in Cancun speed by: lots of shots, lots of rebounds and few foul shots (about 35 minutes for the first half). I'm not sure why, but Doug Bruno is coaching from the sidelines working a crutch with his right arm.

16.6 secs left DePaul trailing by 2.

DePaul went on an 11-0 run to end the third quarter and stretched it to 21-0 to take the lead in the fourth. DePaul was aided by 9 Orange turnovers. Syracuse got a 7-0 run late to help set up the OT.

Syracuse has a dangerous full court pressure. The Gophers better practice breaking the pressure. Australian Tiana Mangakahia is a dangerous penetrating guard.

83-81 OT win by Syracuse. Tiana held the ball with 12 seconds. Then, she penetrated with a behind the back roll to win it. The Gophers are going to get a handful. It will be a very good test for the Lindsay Whalen squad.

Thanks again for posting the link. I am definitely technology challenged. What a game ! Gophers will have their hands full and am glad they are practicing breaking the press.

Mangakahia was the force in OT including the clear out for her game winning, buzzer beating layup. She had 11 points (a three and four dribble drives) in OT giving her 22 for the game.

That Mangakahia is quite the point guard. She'll be tough to stop. They're very good at penetrating the paint and then dishing out to the 3-point line, or else tossing in to a post who dishes out. And they're pretty good 3-point shooters too. They might have a slight edge on us in the shooting department. (Is Hubbard well yet? Wish. Wish.)
