I had to look it up.
During Lovie's tenure, the Illini are 3-20 versus the Big Ten. Those 3 wins came against teams that were a combined 1-22 in the B1G ('16 Rutgers 0-9, '16 MSU 1-8, '18 Rutgers 0-5).
Their 8 wins (out of 32 games) included 2 over FCS teams. If you exclude those, their 6 wins are against FBS teams that were a combined 6-45.
Between Lovie Smith and Rutgers' Chris Ash, the basement of the two divisions seems to be well secured.
Of course, any team can win on any Saturday.
