Both teams are having massive issues at the moment, but Minnesota’s are bigger.

The team just can’t find any offensive consistency, mostly getting its production in blowout mode when the defense is getting rocked.

Indiana might be on an ugly losing streak, but it’s playing better than the Gophers are.

The big difference will turn out to be the turnovers. Yeah, Indiana will give them up, but it’ll also do a great job of taking the ball away. It’ll be a sloppy game, but IU will finish +1 in turnover margin.

That will be enough on the road, to go along with a slightly more effective and efficient attack.

Final Analysis

This a must-win not only for bowl eligibility chances but for morale purposes as well with both teams on a downward spiral in Big Ten play. Even though the Hoosiers are struggling, it’s difficult to envision Minnesota getting the win despite having home-field advantage because of the way the Gophers are performing on both sides of the football of late. The defense continues to be gashed by opposing offenses on a consistent basis, while the offense lacks much identity at this point. Indiana gets a narrow road win and moves one step closer to that coveted six-win mark.
