We are a better team than -

when the season started.

Its quite logical that a freshman (and Sophmore) player is going to improve from the 1st of the season to the end (we are seeing this in the Gophers) more so than a senior
player. I believe we are seeing this with our young Gopher team. Although we didn't win I saw this in the Ohio State game.

In other words I believe we are going to have some happy surprises the rest of the season. Hopefully tomorrow!!

Losing Smith and Winfield certainly didn't help - they were our best two players but I can see where the OP is coming from. I certainly see a solid improvement the last few weeks and their offensive line is progressively getting better. Ibrahim has emerged as a solid runner and the defense looks better, too.

Here is something I think we can ALL agree on - next year this team will get Smith, Winfield and Brooks back along with most of the offense and defense and we won't lose very much either. We should be substantially better in 2019.
