12. MINNESOTA (3-2, 0-2)
That 3-0 start feels like a lifetime ago for the golden Gophers, who've been handled in each of their first two Big Ten games. Kirk Ferentz coached circles around human infomercial P.J. Fleck on Saturday.

No. 12 Minnesota (3-2, 0-2)
Last week: No. 9

Defense stymied the Hawkeyes on the ground, but freshman walk-on quarterback Zach Annexstad threw three interceptions and was sacked five times. Hard seeing three more wins the rest of the season.

12. Minnesota
The perfect Non-Conference run is long gone for the Golden Gophers. Last week: 10.

11. Minnesota, 3-2 (lost to Iowa 48-31)
The Gophers’ secondary just isn’t the same without Antoine Winfield Jr. Iowa may have exposed a major weakness in Minnesota’s defense. Injuries and inexperience are really affecting Minnesota right now. It may not row to very many B1G wins this season.

Love it: "human infomercial."

It really does not take much more than being a PRICK to be involved in the sportswriting game, as we all know. Grantland Rice and gentlemanly sportswriting have been 6 feet under for decades.

Whatever your thoughts on Fleck, "human infomercial" was pretty funny and original. Its ok to laugh at ourselves every now and again.

BTN chimes in with Gophers 11th:

11. Minnesota (3-2, 0-2). Zack Annexstad’s first taste of the Floyd of Rosedale had its ups (3 TD) and downs (3 INT; sacked five times). The secondary definitely misses Antoine Winfield Jr., as the Gophers gave up 314 passing yards and four TDs. The positive sign for the Gophers defense is that, after giving up 300-plus rushing yards to Maryland, it limited Iowa to 106 yards on 40 carries (2.7 ypc). That bodes well for them down the stretch.
Last week: 10
Up next: at Ohio State
