per CBS:

In the first week of the first trial related to the college basketball recruiting scandal more details have emerged that show its wide reach, touching several former college stars now currently in the NBA.

Among the new revelations unveiled on Wednesday in the Southern District of New York, where Merl Code, Christian Dawkins and Jim Gatto are being put on trial for their role in the scandal, were alleged payments Dawkins, an aspiring sports agent, made to former Alabama star Collin Sexton, now with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and a job to Sexton's brother with annual built-in raises. Here's more details from Yahoo's Dan Wetzel.

If a lottery pick 1 and done talent chooses a school that is not is home school and not a blue blood something is almost always fishy.

There's no reason for someone who is essentially doing a semester long job interview to do that interview in a place that doesn't show off his abilities. It's like owning a suit but wearing a tank top to a job interview.

they got him cheap. He was probably worth at least 10 times that in marketing for Bama basketball

My biggest question through this whole thing is why aren't the feds going after the kids taking the benefits like they are the people handing the cash out. Anything received over $15k (gift exclusion), if im not mistaken, would be considered illegal to not pay taxes on. If they start going after some of these high profile player's who've taken the $ for tax fraud it gives future prospects a reason to not take money.

The NCAA and its member teams need to decide which way they want to go. Either have extremely strict enforcement and penalties to clean this mess up or just allow it and let it become essentially a minor professional league.

Personally I am not really interested in watching if they want to try to pay players and make it semi-professional, but some will and everyone can make their decisions, but I think they need to make a stand one way or another.

Their hand is going to be forced by the big lawsuit coming up (though not exactly sure when it will really get going). They're going after the amateurism model itself, in this one.

So that's why we couldn't guard him with two extra players.
