Week 4 Big Ten Power Rankings Thread

NJ.com chimes in with Gophers at 9:

9. MINNESOTA (3-1):
This week: lost at Maryland, 42-13.

Next week: Idle.

Of note: A game like this was coming for a young Gophers team that has overachieved to date. The issue is the first two weeks after the bye week are tough, with an Oct. 6 home game against Iowa followed by an Oct. 13 trip to Ohio State.

BTN chimes in with Gophers at 9th:

9. Minnesota (3-1, 0-1). The Golden Gophers struggled on the road against Maryland, after dominating three straight non-conference foes. The defense allowed explosive TD runs, gave up 315 yards on the ground, and lost star DB Antoine Winfield Jr. to a season-ending foot injury. The youth for Minnesota finally showed, as true freshman QB Zack Annexstad threw two picks, one of which went for a TD.
Last week: 7
Up next: Idle (Oct. 6 vs. Iowa)

CrimsonQuarry chimes in with Gophers at 9th:

9. Minnesota (3-1)
Full disclosure: I thought the Gophers would beat Maryland straight-up in College Park, and was I ever wrong. Minnesota’s 42-13 loss means they’re still rowing the boat upstream in P.J. Fleck’s second season. They get two weeks rest before Iowa comes to town to compete for the Floyd of Rosedale.
