Elk River threw an interception the first time it had the ball, then scored touchdowns on 11 consecutive possessions en route to an 80-70 victory over host Buffalo.

The 150 combined points is believed to be a state high school game record for combined points.

Buffalo quarterback Aidan Bouman threw eight touchdown passes.

Go Gophers!!

Aidan Bouman being the son of Todd who played QB for the queens and for St. Cloud State...

Aidan Bouman was a starter as either an 8th grader or as a freshman. No idea what type of college recruit he is but he puts up massive numbers.

Was at this one. Unbelievable offense. Poopy defense.......
Aidan started as a Freshman for a couple games as a spot starter while the Sr Qb was suspended. But started as a Sophomore as QB1.

He's an Iowa State commit as a Jr and Fleck needs to take notice. Buffalo has another D-1 player in Treyton Welch (6-4 210) who has offers from NDSU, UNI, E Ill and Wyoming and a PWO from Minnesota.

Aidan's preliminary stat line this game was 40-55, 555 pass yards, 8 TDs, 0 INT

Video is Aidan to Welch (which is like Weber to Decker)

I am always going to defer to the coaching staff on who to recruit, best fits what they're looking for, are "Big Ten type players", etc.

But the players you highlight are always the types of guys I feel like end up at NDSU, etc. and the Gophers "miss on". To be fair, there are always a few MN players in each class.

Side note: I think it's interesting that Wyoming still recruits the Twin Cities. It's because their coaching staff came from NDSU, and so still has connections with those high school coaches. And I think they convince one or two TC kids to go to Wyoming each year. But man that's far away to play .... got to fly to Denver, then drive up to Wyoming a few hours. No mainstream commercial flights to the state of Wyoming.
