CFN is first out of the gate:

What’s Going To Happen
It might not be anything pretty, but Minnesota has gotten the job done so far. Beating New Mexico State was no big whoop, but that was a terrific win against Fresno State.

The Gopher offensive line will take over the game, the ground attack will bounce back after a rough performance against the Bulldogs, and the O will hold the ball for close to 40 minutes.

Minnesota QB Zack Annexstad still won’t be amazing, but he’s not going to make any key mistakes to blow this. It’ll be an efficient, boring victory.

Fearless Prediction & Line
Minnesota 31, Miami University 14

Go Gophers!!

I'll take efficient and boring.

With our emerging play makers there will be excitement and highlights. I am becoming a fan of Ko Kieft with his consistent high performance. Could he become the next Matt Spaeth? That is a very high threshold to attain.

Based on what, his blocking ability?

When we struggled to beat ... anyone from time to time I always remember how much I sometimes take for granted beating up on OOC teams.... I enjoy those games more now I think.

Athlon chimes in with a more in-depth prediction:

Miami (Ohio) at Minnesota
Minnesota suffered a big blow over the weekend when Rodney Smith, its top running back, was lost for the season with a knee injury. Smith’s absence — and keep in mind Shannon Brooks also is out for the year — will put even more pressure on true freshman QB Zack Annexstad to lead the offense. Minnesota 20, Miami 7

Go Gophers!!

Final Analysis

Minnesota is bigger, stronger, faster and better coached than Miami — it's that simple. P.J. Fleck has some very talented players with a lot of promise on his squad, and he'll be looking to make a statement every week leading up to Big Ten play. The only way to make a statement against an 0-2 team from the MAC is the blow them out with ease, and I believe that's just what we'll see. A couple of early explosive plays through the air should be enough to give the Gophers a lead they won't give up. From there, Minnesota can just out-physical Miami on the ground and cruise to an easy win.

Prediction: Minnesota 45, Miami 13

Go Gophers!!

HustleBelt.com chimes in:

Fans should expect a more spirited Miami offense on Saturday despite being two-touchdown underdogs. MU will be the best team that Minnesota has faced so far, so it will be interesting to see how the home team handles that. However, if the youth on the edge of the defense can’t produce this week, it will be an uphill battle for the RedHawks. 38-24 Gophers with Miami doing something to build off of heading into conference play.

All of this guys info about the Gophers is from reading the box scores. He just throws in that PJ usually runs the cover 3 on D and everything else is just fluffing the games states. He will learn much more about us this weekend.

Honestly if Miami (OH) played NMSU on a neutral field on Aggie vision, it would be close game, Fresno would roll both those clowns. I hope Fresno can go into the Rose bowl and get that elusive P5 win

Las Vegas Sun

Miami (Ohio) plus-13.5 at Minnesota, over/under: 46.5. :

Gophers’ numbers are on the rise after looking sharp in starting the season 2-0 straight-up and against the spread. Oddsmakers may need to swell spreads a little more, however, to fully dissuade from backing trusty Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck. Guess: Minnesota minus-13.5.
