We’re pleased to have reached an agreement with Comcast, ensuring fans enjoy BTN and the Big Ten on FS1. Thanks for your support – here’s to a great season!

Big Ten Network, Comcast reach deal to keep games on the air - TwinCiites.com

BTN said in a news release that terms of the agreement are Comcast customer will continue to have the sports networks BTN and FS1 in states with Big Ten universities, including Minnesota. BTN also said “in the coming months” customers in states with no Big Ten school “will have access to the Big Ten Network as part of Comcast’s Sports and Entertainment Package.”

During Big Ten media days in July, BTN president Mark Silverman said the 10-year contract between the cable provider and the network were set to expire at the end of August without a resolution on the horizon.

Silverman said that BTN was removed from Comcast’s out-of-market cable systems a few months ago, and the fear was the sports networks could be removed from Big Ten markets, including Minnesota...

When I lived in Atlanta I always got it as part of the Comcast sports package. This is good news. Now in Nebraska I will always get it through Cox Cable - no worry.

If you don’t live in big ten country and have Comcast you can’t watch tonight.

Two things:

1) damn well better be that ACC, SEC, Longhorn, and PAC networks are stuffed into some extra “sports package”, in Comcast networks in Big Ten states!!

2) of course they were going to reach an agreement right at the last second. That’s how this clown show always works. Both sides bluff each other until the last possible second.

Don't they even allow you access thru BTN2GO live streaming? It just doesn't make any sense why Comcast will do this.

Guessing not, because it will be as if the cable login/pass you’re trying to sign in with, links to a cable package that doesn’t include BTN.

Looks like Youtube offers it. Comcast is and always has been a joke.

Cable TV perhaps, but internet I think is reasonably good, given the monopoly/duopoly status most ISP’s enjoy in their respective service areas.
