Well with sophmores (redshirt or not), they have two more years after this season to make an impact. There's still time for those guys to step up, even after this season.

In my view, the "ideal" thing would be to have most of your starters and significant contributors (not just backups listed on the two-deep) be seniors and juniors. It never works out exactly like that, for various reasons.


So if you take the total number of offensive plays (non-punt, non-field goal formations), or the total number of defensive plays (non-punt receive, non-fg block formations) ... and you arbitrarily set a threshold of let's say 20% of that ... so any player who played at least that many offensive or defensive plays in the year qualifies as a "significant contributor". Something like that.

We are going to be really young next year with all those senior starters leaving. I think Fleck said we might be younger next year. At this rate we will eventually be playing HS kids. That is year -1.

I couldn't believe it yesterday, my seven year old got an offer from Minnesota and a promise that if he enrolls in 2019, he'll be a starter in 2020.
