Watched tre in Hopkins on Saturday and this kid is a baller. I like his game better than kendall brown. He is the real deal and sat next to him in the stands and is just a great kid. Mom was a gopher. Really hope this kid stays home.

    per Shooter:

Texas coach Shaka Smart last week became the second college basketball coach to offer a tender to 15-year-old Cretin-Derham Hall freshman point guard Tre Holloman. Minnesota’s Richard Pitino offered last summer.

I watched East Ridge vs Cretin D Hall. Brown did many great things on the court at 6-7 and still growing. Holloman looked very average. One game and East Ridge is stacked. But they are two entirely different players.

Texas Basketball Recruiting: First offer of 2022 class sent to PG Trejuan Holloman

The 2022 Texas basketball recruiting class got things underway with an offer to a potentially elite Minneapolis, MN, point guard Trejuan Holloman.
The start of the pursuit of high school prospects for the 2022 Texas basketball recruiting is officially underway. The first offer of the 2022 Texas basketball recruiting class was handed out at the Tip-Off Classic to Minnesota native point guard Trejuan Holloman. The offer handed out to Holloman was one of a number that went to Minnesotans in the last month.

Moreover, Holloman is getting some early attention from some big time programs from major conferences. The in-state Minnesota Golden Gophers was the first program to offer Holloman, back on Oct. 2. The Texas Longhorns and Baylor Bears are the other two programs which offered Holloman. Both of those offers from the Big 12 schools came at the Tip-Off Classic.

Texas basketball recruiting looks to be trying to get an earlier start for the 2022 class than it did the previous three. Both the 2020 and 2021 Texas basketball recruiting classes are without a commit. And, the 2019 class took a while to land the first one. The first commit for the 2019 class didn’t come until late in the summer, with four-star shooting guard Donovan Williams.

According to the Jr. Future 150, Holloman ranks as the 13th best 2022 high school prospect in the nation in the early part of his recruitment. Holloman doesn’t have a ranking from 247Sports yet. Although, it’s still early in his recruitment so there’s ample time for his ranking to change.

In all likelihood, the USA Basketball product Holloman is going to be a top 20 ranked prospect in the nation for the 2022 recruiting cycle once we move closer to the actual time for him to consider a commitment decision. He sits at 6-foot-0 and 160 pounds, but has elite ball handling and facilitating ability. Holloman can also drive the rim quick off the dribble and beat opposing defenders in the blink of an eye.
