per the Des Moines Register:

Justice Ross endured three knee injuries that resulted in surgery. But the Des Moines East basketball player didn't give up her favorite sport.

That persistence paid off and the senior-to-be said she will sign with Minnesota.

Ross injured her left knee twice and her right knee once between seventh and ninth grade.

"I loved basketball from a young age, and I was about to give up the last time," Ross said. "My friends and family really supported me."

Ross, a 6-foot forward, averaged 14.3 points and blocked 37 shots last season. She'll join her close friend, Des Moines Roosevelt senior-to-be Grace Cumming, at Minnesota.

"We've been best friends since we were younger," Ross said.

Ross, who plans to study physical therapy, said she was recruited by Creighton and also considered Iowa.

"I love the state of Minnesota," Ross said. "I love how it's in the Big Ten."
