5 weeks from tonight the Gophers host NMSU. The Aggies will have already played Wyoming 5 days before.

Starting on that August 30th night there will be some good match-ups through the following Monday.

Here are some of the match-ups that may interest to B1G and Gopher fans. Should say that swingman's post on odds made me take a look at those opening games. The underlined games feature teams that have 2018 Gopher opponents.

Check the link just in case. Can't say that there aren't any mistakes in the "read and print" below.

Thorson and Sindelar missed all Spring...Blough was limited...curious to see how they look week one.

NW has Duke following week. Purdue has Mizzou and BC in non-con.

Hope to see Texas improved and get after Maryland...off campus home game.

Northwestern plays WI, Irish, Iowa in three weeks before our game...might help us.

Like we get two extra days prep and rest for Fresno...like they have a Sat night game and a long trip to get here.

I'm always skeptical of the big early games.

Remember ND and Texas a few years ago?

Texas was back... again... but not... again.

Granted different coach but:

I hate to ask, but is Kent St favored on the road at Illinois?

Remember it? The 50-47 2OT game? Hell yeah. You didn't enjoy that game?

That Notre Dame/Texas game was a great one to watch. So was the Texas/Maryland game last year. Hope it's a good one this year too.

Maybe if it had been a different MAC team. But I don’t believe Kent has had much success even in the MAC?

EDIT: Kent’s head coach from last season is the DB coach at Michigan St this year. Was at Kent the previous five years and won 4,2,3,3,2 games in those seasons.

Before that, Darrell Hazell was there two years and went 11-3 in 2012. Then went to Purdue, and we know how that went.

Lo and behold: Doug Martin was there the seven years previous to that (2004-2010), and never won more than 6 games. He is the current head coach at New Mexico State.
