Nine Gophs get Phil Steele All Big Ten preseason; 5th most in Big

Phil Steele thinks highly of a lot Gophers in his preseason All Big Ten picks, 2019 draft preview:

Barber second team (ranked #15 draft eligible MLB in nation)
Rodney second team (ranked #38 draft eligible RB in nation)
Rodney also 2nd team All Big KR
Donnell Greene second team (ranked #38 draft eligible OT in nation)
Antoine Winfield third team AllBig
Carpenter third team K (ranked #18 draft eligible K in nation)
Coughlin fourth team (ranked #50 draft eligible DE in nation)
Conner Olson fourth tean (ranked #49 draft eligible guard in nation)
Tyler Johnson fourth team
Jordahl fourth team

he has OJ Smith as #74 draft eligible DT in nation
pretty sure he has no idea who Williamson is, let alone how good Williamson is...watch Chris use this as motivation
Bell and/or CAB may make end of year list

He also has 4 Badgers on the first team. Not just First Team Big Ten. First Team All-Americans.

He goes down to a fourth team ranking? That seems a stretch.......(everybody gets a participation ribbon)

OSU 15, MI 13, WI 10, IN 10, MN 9, PSU 9, MSU 8, NE 8, MD 8, IA 7, IL 6, NW 5, RU 4, PU 4.

Fifth best In Big.

In addition to the 9 standout talents Phil Steele recognized, and the unknown of (for now) SEC transfers Williamson and OJ Smith, and the WR talents CAB and Bateman that Fleck and Simon are about to unleash on the Big Ten, don’t be surprised when Seth Green gets AllBig recognition at end of season. He looked the part at split out TE in Spring game.

If Weyler stays healthy and lives up to his second straight placement on the Remington Award watch list, he is another guy who can be AllBig.

You can't be serious.

And thanks for listing those draft rankings. By those numbers none of them will even come close to getting drafted.

Conner Olson may be the smartest and strongest guy on the team. Don’t sleep on him. On NFL radar after one season on field. Great offseason gains in the weight room. Part of a great contingent of home grown Gophers that will bring a little something extra to Axe and Pig games. We get both back this year. Barber, Cashman, Martin, Coughlin, Winfield, Sapp, Andries, Green, Olson, Schlueter, Dovich, Johnson, Douglas, Howard, Jordahl, Morse, Geary, Renner, Annexstad, Mafe, Aune, SpannFord lead the way.

Maybe Swingman can show how many 1st teamers each team has?

It’s also too bad that the #38 draft eligible player at any position is unlikely to actually get drafted...

He also has 4 Badgers on the first team. Not just First Team Big Ten. First Team All-Americans.

Which ones? Taylor and their 3 o-lineman or 2 lineman and TJ edwards?

Athlon has four of their 5 starters as first team all big ten plus their 5th starter last year returns as well. They have Hornibrook as 4th team QB and Cephus third team. Man, they will be tough to stop on O.

He missed Annexstad at least as HM. Surprises ahead!

I think Swingman is delusional enough to believe his bit.

O.J. Smith is the #74 draft eligible DT? No one knows how good Williamson is? Holy sh@t, we’re loaded and we wouldn’t have realized it without Swingman!!!
