The Gophers recently hosted North Dakota graduate transfer Geno Crandall for a visit. With Matz Stockman transferring, Minnesota has an open scholarship spot for the upcoming season.

Crandall, a guard, led North Dakota in scoring with 16.6 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.1 steals per game last season. He shot 50.3 percent from the floor and 41.7 from three-point land in 2017. He will be visiting Xavier this weekend, Gonzaga next weekend and is attempting to schedule a trip to Colorado State. The Gophers are in Crandall's top-five and the team has been heavily recruiting him to bolster their overall guard depth. Crandall could rotate into the starting lineup next to Isaiah Washington if the team decides to occasionally use Dupree McBrayer off the bench. Minnesota needs another ball handler and Crandall provides this, along with scoring potential.

KSTP's Darren Wolfson caught up with Geno Crandall in his latest Scoop podcast. You can listen to the full interview by following this link. He was a fantastic interview and provided a glimpse into his basketball journey and mindset as he prepares to choose his next school.
