Ferentz wants Nebraska as season ending Black Friday game

And I like Minnesota/Wisconsin as our season ending game. If he gets his way, maybe it'll pave the way for us to strike a simar deal.

I think we'd rather have WI/MN for the final game every year, so I've got no issue with this. Though if I was Iowa I'd rather play for Floyd than "Recently Made Up, Corporate Sponsored, Military Appreciation Sounding" trophy.

If not Iowa, I'm happy to end with Wisc.

Iowa and Neb have a good thing going with their Black Friday thing.

Our constant lack of depth makes the Wisconsin game particularly troubling at the end of the year after all the injuries have piled up. One of the myriad of reasons for the 92403 game losing streak.

Ending the season with the Badgers was a thing for many years, but it ended in 1983, 35 years ago. From then until 2002, Gophers ended the season with Iowa. From 2002 to 2010 ended with Wisconsin twice and Iowa the other times. They mixed it up for a few years then made Wisconsin/Minnesota the last game just 4 years ago.

Agree with Chicago Gopher, would much rather see the Gophers play Wisconsin earlier in the season rather than ending the season with them.

Unlike Captain Kirk, would actually like them to end every year fighting for Floyd, but guess that ended when Nebraska entered the Big Ten

Ferentz says he likes idea of an Iowa/Nebraska game on Black Friday as permanent deal. Big Ten went Minnesota/Iowa for 2020-2021.

In the article, it says that it will be Iowa/Wisconsin ending the season in those seasons & Minnesota/Nebraska will face each other.

Don't know if article is wrong or not. I suppose if it's not Wisconsin or Iowa, Nebraska is the next best (& really only option since ILL-NW & PUR-IU are set games).

Minnesota gets NE on the road on 11/28/20 and at home on 11/27/21

Iowa plays Wisconsin to end those years.

IL gets NW

Penn State gets Rutgers

MSU vs. MD

Indy vs. Purdue

tOSU ends the seasons with Michigan

That stinks. I don't mind ending with either IA or WI, but NE seems odd. Hopefully the schools can finally agree on a made up trophy (since the $5 BBoC trophy is pretty much dead) between now and then to give the rivalry some juice. Something like "Legends Trophy" or "Midwest Trophy" or "Service Trophy"... Oh, and make sure we get a corporate sponsor for the series as well. Maybe the "CaseIH Farmland Trophy". :)
