It's back to the men's game and the Big South Conference for Marty:
It was a busy day for Longwood Basketball as Griff Aldrich was introduced to the community and held his introductory press conference. Longwood added a coach and a player, along with some other interesting tidbits:
The press conference was everything you would expect to be with pretty standard questions and answers. Coach Griff talked a lot about culture, installing grit, and style of play. You can check out the audio from the presser here.
Probably the biggest bit of news from today’s press conference is that Aldrich has hired Marty McGillan as an assistant coach. McGillan spent the last year as a women’s assistant at Minnesota but he’s very familiar with the Big South as an assistant at Winthrop in two separate stints from totaling nine years. He’s also spent time at Kennesaw State, Charleston, Wright State, ECU, Coastal Carolina, the Citadel, and his alma mater UNC Wilmington.
