Early report.

That’s a little more than I expected. I wonder what Ivey would have went for.

The five-year contract begins with a base salary of $400,000. Stollings made $500,000 before taking a pay raise in her new post at Texas Tech.

Whalen’s salary increases after each year with the program -- $457,500 in Year 2; $496,500 in Year 3; $521,325 in Year 4; and $547,391 in Year 5.

i think the real question is whether or not she will have $14 million to live off of in retirement.

Nice contract. Whalen has it going on. Heck, just the visitors to this forum spiked considerably since she was announced. Everyone is interested.

True...Stollings did us a favor by leaving.

Sorta like my most recent employment situation. I was let go from a company I enjoyed working for because of budget cuts to my team, and it lead to me pursuing and receiving an offer from my dream company.

I should have posted this earlier.
A copy of Whalen's contract is included in the May regents docket materials starting on page 250.

I will say that the section regarding the universities right to terminate with cause seems longer than usual; but maybe that's just a result of the J. Robinson and Norwood Teague experiences.

Both Lindsay and the University have the same termination without cause penalty. $400,000 the first year and $457,000 the second year. It quickly reduces after the second year.

Both sides agree to revisit the contract after years one and two.

There's the standard section on reporting outside income. Lindsay's outside income reporting may be more complicated than normal.

Some incentives:

100k for winning the national championship
75k for a final four appearance
50k for the elite 8
25k for the sweet 16
10k for making the NCAA

30k for B1G championship
15k for B1G tourney championship

10k for B1G coach of the year
25k for national coach of the year

5k to 15k depending on APR

5k to 15k depending on teams GPA
