Three-star Illinois (St Charles) cornerback Tyler Nubin has committed to the Gophers. He chose Minnesota over offers from Big Ten opponents, Michigan, Michigan State Iowa and others. He is rated as the No. 38 cornerback in the 2019 class, according to 24/7 Sports. Nubin also was the No. 5 overall player in the state of Illinois. At 6-foot-2, he has nice length and can develop into a solid physical press corner. He displays excellent ball skills and is always getting into passing lanes. Nubin is very disruptive at the catch point, causing pass breakups. There is so much untapped potential with a player like this because of his unique physical traits. This is a switch from past defensive back recruits who have been smaller and more speed oriented.

Nubin toured the campus last weekend and decided it was the best fit. He is currently the highest-rated player Minnesota has landed in this cycle. Right now, the Gophers already have five verbal commits for 2019.

Here is a look at his film:

Have we had recruits before that made "the commitment" videos?

This is cool on a lot of levels- well done Tyler.

Perhaps production problems is what is delaying Max D's decision.
