The opposing team locker room, all the walls .... PJ HEAD.

Anyone know which team is wearing white shoes?

Possible.

Gold team picks Annexstad or Vic first, team Maroon went defensive with Winfield maybe, then pick two went to Gold and they took Vic or Annexstad, then Maroon finally decide to draft Morgan?

Seems unlikely.

It doesn’t have to be the first picks. Gold takes Vic or Ax with a pick, Maroon picks Morgan at some time and then Gold fills in with the Vic or Ax at some other time and the others are added at the end. The point was that Morgan may not have been the top QB pick as you first speculated. Who knows?

per Sid:

• Recommended for Gophers football fans: Make plans for the spring game at noon Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium. It is guaranteed to be a real football contest.

• Speaking of the spring game, coach P.J. Fleck talked about his expectations for his redshirt freshmen. “There is a reason we redshirted them. They have gotten bigger, stronger, faster. … But you’re still young. You’re still freshmen. But again, you can start taking big strides in your redshirt year.”

Go Gophers!!

Interesting how Maroon only has 2 RB. Also gold has Brooks listed. Obviously he won't play, but nice they still included him in the draft! Plus since he's Coach Brooks for the year he can practice his Coaching chops during the game helping Gold's RBs.

Seems like Maroon will rely heavier on the passing game, since they got Johnson the "better" WRs while Gold got the "better" RBs (better here meaning more experienced/actually have played in a college game before). It will be interesting who they choose for QB. My bet is Gold pics Vic and maroon picks Tanner.

Gold only has one more and I doubt Smith gets much run as they won't want to expose him to too many hits.

Interesting the specialists are all on Maroon. Obviously they'll probably play for both teams since we don't have enough to have each team have its own set of Special Teams, so maybe they got to choose which team they were technically on?

Does anyone know any details about the pre-game activities? What they consist of? Is it worth it for the kids? It says activities near Gate A from 10am-12pm. Will they move them indoors with the expected inclement weather?

My son has special needs and loves Goldy Gopher so I thought this would be a great opportunity to see Goldy and let him check out the stadium and things. We probably won't last more than one hour, but this will still be a big treat for him.

Then I would say to make it the last portion of the game and head down to the field after the game. That is traditionally the players make themselves available for pics and autographs, but more importantly for you, Goldy is usually down there taking pictures so your son might get some one on one time.

From the National Weather Service - the current long-range forecast for Saturday ----

Saturday: Rain and snow likely before 4pm, then rain likely between 4pm and 5pm, then rain and snow likely after 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Breezy, with a northeast wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

No offense, folks - but I would not go to a real game in those conditions - let alone a glorified scrimmage. I suspect the attendance is going to be meager.

I heard the other day that Iowa State cancelled their Spring Game because of expected bad weather this weekend. One way to avoid bad optics if the crowd is really small.

(I will be in Sioux Falls, getting a new car stereo installed. Hope to watch the replay on BTN if I get home in time.)

And if you show up near the end of the game you are very likely to find on-street parking right outside the stadium too.

If accurate....with that precip and wind seems ripe for a reschedule up or down a day or two but obviously a lot of logistics with BTN, etc. If they were to reschedule and BTN can't make it someone can live stream with their smartphone...maybe similar quality to everyone's favorite student-run media department, Aggievision.

If cancelled altogether, major blow for "buzz" and it will be an eve night longer off-season.

Could they move it out to someday in June??

If nothing else one would think they’d simply move indoors and make the best of it. The camera angles might stink and there might not be enough space for everyone attending but it would certainly be better for fans than cancelling it altogether.

Please no more Thursday night games!

Oh man, we have to agree to disagree there! Nothing better than starting off the Labor Day weekend with the Gophers home opener! Love that game. My kids look forward to it every year. Of course you have to take Friday off to really enjoy it but it's been nice to have that extra day.

Is BTN live streaming it? I can't find any official announcements stating that, when in previous years it was specifically stated.

AFAIK it’s always been on BTN in recent years. Whether live...cant recall. I think so.

Right, everything I seem to find is just "Well it was in previous year", but nothing officially stating it.

BTN website - Schedule is showing "Gopher Spring Game" at 9:00pm on Saturday. They have two hours blocked out for the show.

Earlier: Ohio State Spring game at 12:45; Maryland at 3:00pm; Michigan at 6:00pm.

So, if BTN is counting on the Gophers to provide two hours of programming, I suspect the Spring Game will be played - no matter how bleak the conditions may be. Money talks - and BTN provides a lot of money.

Found the info on the Iowa State Spring Game:

AMES, Ia. — Iowa State football fans hoping to get a sneak peek at the 2018 Cyclones will have to wait.

Due to poor weather conditions forecasted for Saturday, the 2018 Iowa State spring game has been canceled and will not be made up.

"The only thing you feel bad for is our fan base because you love the opportunity for our kids to get out," Iowa State coach Matt Campbell said following Monday's practice. "Our fans have been so awesome to us the last two years, in terms of showing up and have been such a huge, huge piece of why that's been such a positive event."

The annual event had been scheduled to take place Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium. But with cold temperatures and a high chance of rain projected in the forecast that day, Iowa State decided to call off the game. Iowa State director of athletics Jamie Pollard said in a statement issued by the school Tuesday that it was a mutual decision made by him and Campbell.

Despite not wanting to disappoint fans, Campbell said the decision not to have his players take the field at Jack Trice Stadium was an easy one. Instead, Iowa State will hold its third scrimmage of the spring inside at the Bergstrom Football Complex.

Family members of players and coaches can attend. So can Iowa State's three honorary captains in former Cyclone stars Kelechi Osemele, Ahtyba Rubin, Chris Washington and Ellis Hobbs. The practice will be closed to the public.

"For safety reasons, obviously, our fans can't get to the indoor (practice facility), so that aspect of it, we won't have," Campbell said. "But we need that practice, and the reality of us, with the weather and what it looks like, I would rather not waste a day — I'd rather get a 15th practice in and put a great finish to camp."

Most of the other activities centered around the spring game have also been canceled, including the Cyclone Carnival, Cyclone Club Football Clinic and the Cyclone Gridiron Club Tailgate. Saturday night's Cy House of Trivia will still take place at Hilton Coliseum at 5 p.m.

Iowa State opens the 2018 season on Sept. 1 against South Dakota State at Jack Trice Stadium.

While the end of the spring isn't how Campbell envisioned it going, he said he's been happy with how Iowa State's other scrimmages have gone.

"The last two have been awesome," Campbell said. "A lot of growth on our football team in areas we needed to see. Are we exactly there yet? No. Are we making really good strides? I'd say yes. A lot of good competition on this football team right now, and that's what you want, and that's what you hope to have in year 3 of your football program."

I am sure that many will stay away, but I have never skipped a Gopher football game because of the weather and I don't intend to let a crappy afternoon forecast deter me Saturday. I'll put on an extra layer and pack the rain gear. One big plus is the that beer stays cold forever when the temp outside is the same as the temp in the cooler.

Ski-U-Mah!

Rumors of a move - perhaps to Thursday night. Nothing official yet.

My son is in the Pride of Minnesota marching band and was told the game is being moved to Thursday Night.

I can second this. Band was told Thursday night, 6pm was when Athletics was looking to reschedule the game. Don't know if it is set in stone yet or not. Look for an announcement from the Athletic Department soon.

More Info:

The University of Minnesota football team will now play its annual spring game at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12 at TCF Bank Stadium.

The game was originally scheduled for a 12 p.m. kick on Saturday, April 14, but is being moved to Thursday in advance of potential inclement weather affecting the Midwest this weekend. The move is being made in the interest of student-athlete and fan safety as the National Weather Service is forecasting a strong storm to move through the region this weekend.

“The spring game is a reward for our players and fans, so cancelling it was not an option,” said head coach P.J. Fleck. “Moving the game from Saturday to Thursday enables us to keep it outside at TCF Bank Stadium so fans can watch our team. It will also provide a safe environment for everyone involved and will allow for our coaching staff to evaluate players in a game-like setting. We recognize that some of our fans, especially those with families were planning to come to the game on Saturday, so we will schedule a fan event with our team that allows for them to connect with our student-athletes later this year.

“I am excited for Thursday. We are playing a real game this year with Team Maroon facing Team Gold, and I encourage fans to wear either Maroon or Gold to support the side they are cheering for.”

The game will be streamed live on BTN2Go and will air on delay at 8 p.m. on Thursday on BTN. It can also be heard locally on the radio on KFAN 100.3 and statewide on select Gopher Radio Network stations.

The game is free to attend and there are many family friendly events surrounding the yearly exhibition
