Gophers To Hold Pro Day On March 28

The University of Minnesota football team will host its pro day for outgoing Gophers on Wednesday, March 28, at the team’s new indoor practice field at Athletes Village.

The following former Gophers from last year's team are slated to participate: Adekunle Ayinde, Vincent Calhoun, Jonathan Celestin, Merrick Jackson, Kobe McCrary, Duke McGhee, Steven Richardson, Ryan Santoso, Andrew Stelter, Nate Wozniak and Garrison Wright.

This session, which begins at 8 a.m., is not open to the public but is open to the media. The lone exception being any activities that take place in the team’s weight room. Any potential interviews with the athletes will be conducted at the completion of their workout.

Go Gophers!!

I really think Kobe McCrary gets an invite to a camp and has a chance to open some eyes.

Seems like a few guys had good pro days and will at least get chances with NFL squads. Santoso, Richardson and McCrary hopefully get shots.

Celestin did 27 reps at 225 pounds at Gophers pro day. That's pretty dang explosive for a man of his size. I hope the Scouts that were there pull him in for a local workout. Vikings will need libebackers and have later round picks. Celestin likes to tackle he should be on NFL teams radar now.

Has any one player been both the punter and field goal kicker for an NFL team?

Not recently. They're similar but still different enough and important enough to have specialists for both. Here's a few interesting articles on that:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...ers-who-punt-punters-who-place-kick/20848951/

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-to-colts-about-being-both-punter-and-kicker/

I would think someone who did both at a collegiate level might still have a slight advantage though knowing that they can do either if injuries happen.

Did any WWE scouts show up for Nate Wozniak? I mean, he's 6'10", was our best weight room guy last year, and is on the record saying he "loves to hit people".

Sign him up!
