Four B1G teams are in the WNIT. Rutgers initially accepted a bid and then declined. Purdue plays at IUPUI. The Jaguars are coached by former Purdue men's point guard Austin Parkinson.

Indiana received the Big Ten’s automatic bid to this year’s WNIT as the highest conference finisher not selected for the NCAA Tournament (the Hoosiers and Purdue tied for seventh place in the Big Ten at 9-7, with Indiana claiming the tiebreaker by virtue of its two wins over the Boilermakers during the regular season). The Hoosiers will play host to UT Martin in a WNIT first-round game at 7 p.m. (ET) Thursday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Indiana is making its 10th WNIT appearance and second in a row, having compiled a 15-8 record in NIT play, counting both the WNIT and its unaffiliated predecessor, the eight-team round-robin National Women’s Invitation Tournament (NWIT) in Amarillo, Texas (where Indiana finished as the runner-up in 1991).

Michigan State will also open its WNIT run at home, welcoming Cincinnati to the Breslin Center for a first-round game at 7 p.m. (ET) Thursday. The Spartans will be appearing in the WNIT for the fifth time and first since 2008, when they advanced to the WNIT championship game. MSU is 11-4 all-time in WNIT games.

Penn State makes its second consecutive WNIT appearance and fourth in program history when it entertains Radford in a first-round matchup at 7 p.m. (ET) Thursday at the Bryce Jordan Center. The Lady Lions are 6-2 in their abbreviated WNIT history, highlighted by winning the 1998 championship.

Purdue heads on the road to begin its WNIT journey, as the Boilermakers play a first-round game at IUPUI at 7 p.m. (ET) Thursday. Purdue is making its third NIT appearance, and second in the current WNIT event after a 2010 berth, having posted a combined 3-2 record in NIT games. The Boilermakers also advanced to the championship game of the old NWIT in 1988, becoming the first of nine current Big Ten schools who have played for an NIT title during their history.

Penn State fell at home in overtime to Radford 62-63. The Lady Lions had the final shot but page spent most of the time dribbling aimlessly.

Purdue scored with 6 seconds remaining to defeat IUPUI in Indy 49-46 thus escaping with a modicum of dignity.

Michigan State knocked off Cincinnati in East Lansing 81-75.

Indiana made short work of Tennessee Martin 74-50 in Bloomington.

Purdue avenged a regular season setback to Ball State with a 77-72 victory in Muncie. With :52 seconds remaining the game was tied at 71. Purdue finished the game going 8-8 from the line.

Indiana routed Milwaukee in Bloomington 74-54 setting up a third meeting with Purdue. Indiana is 2-0 against Purdue this season and will host the Boilermakers on Thursday.

Michigan State hosts Toledo tonight.

Michigan State stays alive defeating Toledo in East Lansing 68-66. Will play at South Dakota on Thursday.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Shay Colley’s layup with less than two seconds left lifted the Spartan women’s basketball team over Toledo in the second round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT), 68-66, on Monday at the Breslin Center.

The Rockets tied the score for the fifth time of the night at 66-66 with a layup by Tanaya Beacham. After a Toledo timeout, Colley took control and delivered the game-winning shot.

With the win, MSU improves to 19-13 this season and advances to the third round, where the Spartans will play at South Dakota on Thursday. Toledo ends its year with an overall record of 18-15.

Coming off the bench after missing a game with an injury, freshman forward Sidney Cooks led the Spartans with 15 points. Colley added 14 points and four assists for MSU, while senior forward Taya Reimer scored in double figures for the third-straight game with 10 points. Sophomore guard Taryn McCutcheon tallied nine points to go with dishing out six assists.

Indiana dispatched Purdue in Bloomington 73-51. Tyra Buss led the scoring with 24 points.

In Vermillion, South Dakota ended Michigan State's season 85-83 in overtime. Shay Colley scored 31 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for the Boilermakers. Cierra Duffy led the Coyotes with 25.

Buss dropped 30 and Indiana cruised by UC-Davis 81-66 to advance to the semifinals.

Looks like they will either play @ South Dakota or at home vs TCU depending the outcome of that game.

Buss scored 22 in Indiana's win tonight. They will face Virginia Tech on Saturday at 2 PM (CDT) on CBS Sports Network for the WNIT Championship. If Indiana wins, it will be the second year in a row with a Big Ten winner since Michigan won it all last season.

Indiana wins 65-57. Crowd was announced at over 13,000 for an all time record crowd for Indiana women's basketball. Great send off for Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill on their home court with the victory. Buss named tourney MVP.
