McBrayer has been dealing with stress reactions in his legs and has missed five games this season. “I wouldn’t wish (the pain) upon nobody,” the junior guard said.
Pitino has kept McBrayer out of practices to try and ease the pain and preserve him for games. Once the season ends, he will be shut down.
“Give him about a month off and evaluate him going forward,” Pitino said. “What do we need to do with his injury? Does rest heal it more than anything?”
McBrayer is averaging 9.4 points and 36 percent shooting in 26 games this year.
