per the Times Reporter:

Daniel Ifft has been part of the University of Minnesota football program for less than a year.

And he’s already taking over the team’s director of football operations in 2018.

The 2007 Dover High School graduate joined the Golden Gophers staff in June 2017 as a recruiting assistant during the 2017 season.

Ifft will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, coordinates all game-related travel, is a liaison with the athletic administration and works closely with Coach P.J. Fleck and the staff on all football-related matters.

Ifft, the son of Dover head football coach Dan Ifft and mother Jill, went to Minnesota from the private sector, but was previously a member of the football staffs at the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo. He also was a four-year letterwinner as a wide receiver at Ball State University.

He was a recruiting assistant at Michigan from 2013-15 and assisted in all phases of recruiting, from prospecting to signing day. He managed incoming prospect videos, communicated with high school coaches, developed recruiting materials and planned official and unofficial visits. He also created and maintained the team’s recruiting calendar and worked closely with the compliance office and academics. He also facilitated the walk-on program and worked with transfers.

Go Gophers!!

If he leaves in a year, will everyone panic?

Amazing what having D1 coaching experience in the family does for your career trajectory.
