STrib: Lawyer for Gophers' Reggie Lynch plans Thursday news conference

While the reporters were waiting, the camera was rolling. Caught discussion of one of the reporters new baby, another reporters wedding plan and Rochelle Olson saying Heroin and Nicotine are basically the same, and a fentanyl high is "the best 3 minutes" of your life

Wow tacky

Lawsuits cost money and time neither of which Reggie has the luxury off. The truth is one of the victims.

Nothing will ever change at the U. Why is the U's legal counsel not tied into the EOAA legal process?
We have a racist public University at UMN. Athletes should just be aware when they sign up.

Such a frustrating situation. everyone involved gets hurt and the university suffers when a parent describes the environment at the U in a negative light.
Racism should be viewed negatively.

If you think that then do you think that it affects present recruiting ?
I have no idea. It is possible that the cases in both the football and basketball program result in negative recruiting from others who are competing with UMN for athletes.
How much effect does negative recruiting have on a young person? Can another Universities recruiter plant a thought into a young persons mind that black men are vulnerable if they attend UMN? Yes, I think that can happen.

College due process lawsuits are brought on a contingency basis. The student's lawyer bears all the costs of the litigation. And there is no EOAA legal process. The only thing the EOAA does is investigate claims of sexual abuse or harassment by students at the U. Once the investigation is complete the EOAA has no further input in the matter. The hearing and appeals are conducted under the U's student disciplinary process which is completely separate from the EOAA investigation.

The U's General Counsel is very involved in every hearing and appeal that has the potential to end up in the news media. Nothing is going to change because the U has one of the fairest student codes of conduct of any college in America. The American Bar Association has recently made recommendations for improving student codes of conduct and the U's code already complies with almost all of the recommendations. No athletes at the U have ever challeged the U's process in court much less actually won their cases.

Injustice is still injustice
Racism is still racism

Reggie's "victims"? LOL; like he's a convicted serial killer. Way to go #MeToo.

Most GopherHolers understand by now it doesn't matter to you whether your uneducated opinions are right or wrong. Apparently it is enough for you just to be able to express them to a welcoming audience of similarly uneducated posters. Nobody can successfully bring a due process lawsuit if they refuse to go though the process. Reggie and Pacyga will not be suing the U for anything. We know this because none of Pacyga's clients on the football team sued the U for anything. We all should know by now that Pacyga will sue anyone at the drop of a hat except when he thinks he is going to lose. For the time being the U is going to remain undefeated in defending Title IX due process lawsuits.

You are a real piece of work.
