Although I understand the purpose of the post (things could be worse), that sentiment is so Minnesota.

So much for that little fun fact!

It's surprising that Illinois has struggled so much since Self's players left. But then you see that they have a similar problem to Minnesota. The better programs often come in and pillage the top talent from their state.
 

Heads up folks. We are Illinois. In the same sentence as them for sure. Little to no success over the last 10-15 years in any of the major sports. We need a sweet 16 run, a top of the conference football finish or years and years of making NCAA tournaments and New Year's day bowl games before anyone categorizes this University's programs any better than middle bottom of this conference.
 

Illinois has been to a Final Four, a Sugar Bowl and a Rose Bowl this century. I'd take that in exchange for a miserable stretch.
