Minnesota United 2018 Season Thread

Saturday's game was disgusting to watch.

Good news today, they announced signing Romario Ibarra an Ecuadorian national team player.

Sweet back to back wins and moving up the standings. If they can find a way to win on Sunday they will really move up. They have found something with the 3-5-2. They need a replacement for gomez, dude was getting beat all night long. Can the new Ibarra play that spot? Ramirez with the goal but completely missed and screwed up multiple other easy opportunities, with the new DP he has to be feeling the pressure. will he stay on as a super sub or are they going to loan him out?

Loons are shredding LAFC right now; 5-1 in the 70'

Quintero is incredible.

Quintero is incredible.

Was at the match and it was a blast. I bought season tickets to the Loons on a whim to be able to have tickets in the new stadium. I have been amazed at how entertaining it is as I learn the sport.

But the best thing: matches take two hours. Really. No desperate attempts to keep the crowd engaged through long commercial breaks. The game really flows. Then it ends!

I hope the NCAA and NFL are tracking the difference in game experience. I love football, but I like the live experience of futbol much better.

This is why I have season tickets and have converted to a soccer fan. The U could really take notes fromthe supporter section about how to get the crowd into a game! Crowd yesterday was super loud, can't wait for the new stadium that crowd will be even louder.

Quintero is a game changer, they have really found something with this 3-5-2. It will be interesting to see what happens when they get Molino and Finlay back.

The Benedetti rumors are really picking up. Sounds like they are trying to spend some major money ahead of next season!

Christian Ramirez traded to LAFC last night for up to $1m in allocation money :(

The writing was on the wall for Ramirez when they signed Rodriguez, I'm actually impressed they got up to $1million for him. Sucks as he was one of my favorite players on the team (behind Ibarra), he was given zero respect by Heath and time and time again came through big for them only to continually be in Heath's doghouse. I hope he finds success at LAFC.

Big point on the road this weekend. Will need to continue that to have a chance at a play off spot.

It's going to be tough in Dallas without Calvo & Warner. Someone has to step up on the defensive side.

BTW, is it time to take the armband from Calvo?

I'd actually like to see some advanced stats run on calvo and our D when calvo is out there, I don't think he is that good and seems like his mark is always the one scoring goals. Dudes been on my sh!t list all season and I kept hoping they would sign some more defenders and get rid of him, unfortunately I don't see that happening any time soon.

MN United signed Fernando Bob today. Yup, Bob. Brazilian defensive midfielder (what everhappend with cronin?).

Also their last game of the season they are trying to set an attendance record, have cheap tickets, $2 hot dogs, $1 popcorn and $.75 pop. If you have't checked a game out yet and are interested that would be a good one, especially to bring the kids to with those prices.

Cronin has had cervicogenic dysfunction (migraines and other concussion symptoms) all year
