Second biggest home loss ever, trailing only a 39-point thrashing by UCLA and Lew Alcindor in 1969. But I bet the crowd didn't get glow sticks then.
 

Several US patents for "glow stick" type devices were received by various inventors. Bernard Dubrow and Eugene Daniel Guth patented a Packaged Chemiluminescent Material in June 1965 (Patent 3,774,022). Based on the date of invention it’s unlikely it was mass marketed by 1969.

With all due respect to Purdue, I don't think they're in the same class as the '69 UCLA team. Of course, it probably didn't cost as much money to get the Purdue players on campus. Rumor has it the UCLA guys were more expensive.
