Carsen Edwards | Purdue, Guard
Going into Wednesday, the 6-foot sophomore was one of only five players nationally averaging 17 points per game and shooting at least 60 percent from inside the arc. Edwards is an impressive finisher for his size, but he’s also a dangerous outside shooter (37 percent).
Tony Carr | Penn State, Guard
Carr is arguably the most explosive scorer in the Big Ten this season with three games of 29 points or more, including 31 in a loss to now-No. 11 Texas A&M. The 6-5 sophomore has ranked second behind Murphy in points per game (18.9) for most of the season so far.
Cassius Winston | Michigan State, Guard
The Spartans’ starting five could end up being All-Big Ten selections, including posts Nick Ward and Jaren Jackson Jr. But Winston, who leads the conference with 7.2 assists per game, is the floor leader that gives coach Tom Izzo his best chance at a national championship since 2000.
