Register picks school

Former Gophers wide receiver Hunter Register, who announced after the 2017 season finale that he would transfer, posted on Twitter that Southern University will be his new school. Register, who played mainly on special teams last year for the Gophers and did not have a reception, will have two years of eligibility remaining and will be able to play in 2018 at the FCS school in Baton Rouge, La.

Go Gophers!!

Good for him. Wish him the best of luck as SU!

Hope he has a solid career there.

Are the Gophers completely done with 2018 recruiting? They signed the max 25 players for 2018. Logan Richter is gray shirting.

Second question - Are they now at the 85 scholarship limit? With Hunter Register's announcement of a transfer, will they have 84 scholarship players, and can they sign someone else using a 2016, 2015, 2014 spot and not count against the 2018 class and the 85 max scholarship roster limit?

So, there is no way they can sign a player like Taiyon Palmer on the February NSD?

He seems like a good guy. I wish him well at Southern University.

Look forward to watching him in the Bayou Classic.
As with others, I wish Hunter well.

Good Luck top the young man. He will be much closer to home.

Best of luck to Hunter, hopefully he can have success like some of the other Gophers who have dropped down a level.
