NCAA Monday RPI 2017-18 Season

Indiana is not a gimme, even though they are 2-4 on the road in BIG play. I watched them beat Purdue in W. Lafayette recently and they were solid. It will be important to hold Cahill in check. That being said, I still think the Gophers are a better team and I'm hoping they can take care of business against the Hoosiers. Anyone else think Purdue could be a sleeper in the BIG tourney? They looked very good in beating Maryland last night and they've been known as a team that always plays well in the BIG tournament, including a nice run last year. Gophers go from their biggest game of the year against Michigan to what now becomes their biggest game of the year against Maryland. I guess the games are all big games this time of year for bubble teams. Instead of knocking on the bubble door, it would be nice to see the Gophers knock it down.

Purdue always does well in the tournament. It is essentially a home tournament for them.

I say take care of the next three games and it should get them in the NCAA. I do have reservations however as I feel the NCAA committee is somewhat biased against the BIG; Little to close association with ESPN and SEC if you ask me but I may be a conspiracy theorist: I do believe NCAA owes the Gophers one for the horrible snub the gave the softball team last year-again I know it’s not real life but just me venting.

I really hate Notre Dame, and I loath Texas, but I honestly hope that the B1G brokers some kind of deal with both Notre Dame and Texas, to the point that they can break away from the NCAA with a ton of control, enough to be able to tell the SEC no more of the bs dissing of northern teams just because they are northern. I mean, the B1g is already probably the #1 conf overall, all things considered, but if we added Notre Dame and Texas, well, there would be no other conference that could even come close to us. But I have heard that the only way you get UT is if you take KU, so maybe Notre Dame couldn't be in that mix? But my point is that the southern teams might actually have more to lose than the northern schools if they do not unite, so if the B1G gains some control, then that could help the Softball and Baseball situations.

The BTN analyst at the half of the Indiana-Nebraska game stated: "No Big 10 team that has ever had 20 wins overall and less than 7 losses in conference play has ever missed the NCAA tournament."

I don't know if that includes the Big 10 tournament, but the Gophers are already there!!

I suppose they could lose to Maryland and Indiana and then once in the Big 10 tournament giving them 7 losses. But I'm not sweating it. We got this.

I heard Vera say that; but that can't be right: see Michigan above.

Last season Michigan finished 23-8 and 11-5 in conference play. They lost to Michigan State in the B1G tourney which made their record 23-9 and 11-6. They went to the WNIT. KBA was not pleased.

Unless the Gophers beat Maryland or have a sterling B1G tourney, I remain concerned about their chances to make the NCAA tournament. One thing worth noting, though, is that the weakness of the Big Twelve, which won't be sending its usual eight or nine teams to the dance, will help the B1G teams on the bubble.

Any chance UNC has moved up into the Top 100? Adding another win over Iowa had to help. I have to think we are in now, without a doubt. And the way we played against the B1G Champs, a team rated very highly, shows, I think, that we are playing good bb at the right time. I could see us winning either 1 or 2 games in the NCAA tourney, depending on who we get matched up against, of course.
