Signing Viramontes should help in the recruitment of Bachmeier and Duggan

Gophers in the hunt for a QB

Viramontes committed over the weekend and per reports will have three years of eligibility -- 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Bachmeier or Duggan would arrive on campus in Fall 2019, presumably redshirt in 2019, back-up or compete for the job in 2020 and be set up to 100% take over the job as RS Sophomores in 2021.

Secure a commitment from either Bachmeier or Duggan and the QB position, where improvement is obviously essential, is in good shape for the next five years, IMO.

Watched 9 minutes of Viramontes' HUDL tape... does he ever throw slants or outs or short stuff? Deep ball after deep ball.

You can change the title to "Gophers In The Hunt For QBs".

It sounds logical, but I don't think in CFB land it actually works out that way.

You'd THINK that having a clearer path to start would be desirable, but at blue blood schools players flock to those places and stack up 4* guys even behind 5* guys up and down those rosters. If having a clear path to starting was desirable all those blue blood schools would have trouble with depth... and yet at many of those schools they regularly have guys who would start here ... deep on the chart with no end in sight.
