Boese: U talent may finally "wash the taste of Tubby Smith's clogged toilet offense"

per Brett Boese of the Rochester Post Bulletin:

BOESE: My biggest concern remains shooting. Do the Gophers have enough of the long-range variety, especially in the starting lineup? Akeem Springs led the team with 67 treys last year, but only one other person hit more than 37 in a 34-game season.

The Gophers often relied on a rugged defense last year, but Green Bay scored 86 in last week's dress rehearsal — while the Gophs scored 115. The bench trio of Washington, Hurt and frosh Jamir Harris combined for 42 points, five treys and just three turnovers.

I'm not going to guarantee a deep March run, but that kind of depth and scoring ability may finally — finally! — wash the taste of Tubby Smith's clogged toilet offense out of my mouth.
