Michigan State hasn't seen Minnesota since playing there in November 2013.

But it has seen several members of the Gophers' new coaching staff much more recently than that, ahead of the two teams' Saturday game (8 p.m., BTN).

New Gophers coach P.J. Fleck came to Minneapolis this offseason after a five-year stint at Western Michigan. That stint included two games against Michigan State and Mark Dantonio, in 2013 and 2015.

Dantonio said this week that the Spartans will spend this week looking at film from their past games against Western Michigan, among other games, to prepare.

"We go over everything," Dantonio said. "We'll look back into the past. We look back into the past of every coach that's there. That's just what we do when preparing anybody. We try to be as thorough as possible. We look at what hurt us, what helped us, all those types of things.

Go Gophers!!

We have an offense that crumbles under pressure and a defense that's gassed at the end of games. Perfect recipes for giving up a load of late points.

Why did none of the defensive coaches at Western Michigan come to Minnesota with Fleck?
