Streveler is at it again

Haven't you been a proponent of Tanner Lee at Nebraska based on his performance at Tulane?

Why does that matter? Tulane is at a higher level than South Dakota and a FBS team just like Nebraska.

This isn't an attack on you, because I kind of agree, but why did Kill recruit and sign him in he wasn't a fit for what he wanted to do offensively? Our QB recruiting/roster management was certainly baffling under the previous regime. Shortell was run off because he wasn't mobile enough, Streveler didn't get a chance because he was seen as "only" mobile, and Rhoda abandoned for unknown reasons. What a cluster.

IIRC, Steveler committed early in the summer of like '12 or '13 which was a year or two into Kill's regime. That fall, they really started to shift more from what they ran at NIU to trying to be an under center power running game. So basically Streveler had committed here and they started to shift towards that other philosophy meaning he just wasn't a fit anymore but they still brought him in.

To be honest, he wasn't the only one. I've said this before but they failed to adapt in QB recruiting after they made their switch. Strevy wasn't a great fit, McKinzy wasn't and to be honest, Croft wouldn't have been a great fit either. They recruited QB's for the system they had ran before because they were comfortable with it and figured they could mold them into what they suddenly decided they wanted to run, which was never going to work. On the other side of the coin, if Shortell would've known they were going to switch philosophies, he probably would've stuck around because he would've been a better fit.
