Come to Minnesota, get a HDTV...

If the Gophs had gone to the Motor City Bowl all they would have gotten is some luggage and a watch. Instead they get a LCD TV and a Bulova watch.

And yet the NCAA has a million rules preventing athletes from recieving extra benefits. I believe this meets the definition of hypocritical.

WOW! I feel like I had vaguely heard of gifts given for bowl appearances, but I had NO IDEA as to the extent. Seriously...some of those are amazing packages! A Wii bundle?! An iPod Touch?! A $400 Best Buy shopping spree!!!! While I agree with others that these rewards are hard-earned and well-deserved, I also agree with the above poster that it's the epitome of hypocrisy that the NCAA allows this to go on...and yet, might suspend a player who accepts a job (at which they actually work) from a booster, or a $10 meal during an "unofficial" recruiting trip.
