The game in 60min, so no replays.
Wow, just wow.

...Mitch decided to crap all over himself. God I thought we were going to win that game.

It wasn't all Mitch's fault.
There were some WR drops that were critical.
The defense played pretty well.

You're right. Not all. But a lot of it was. Defense played very well. Overall, just another L to Wisconsin.

Our blockers couldn't solve their rush and Mitch chucked it up for grabs way too many times instead of living to fight another day. On defense their jet sweep was the dagger play after some confusion and hesitation in the back 7. It was a team loss, but oh so close.

Painful game. Second time in a row at Camp Randall where we led at half-time.

I wish MN had a Fumagalli type TE. WI's go-to 3rd down play is hit Fumagalli with a pass up the middle for 5 yards, turning into a 12 yard gain.

Bring back Maxx.

The GH equivalent of self-flagellation. It'll be ecstasy when we cease losing to those *ssholes.

Who was that little dick that broke that long jet sweep? I think it was Jizz Peaby? Who in the Sam Hill would name their kid Jizz?????

I was there :( so sad because we were oh so close. It went south FAST. Home crowd got into the game in the late 3rd. Brutal ending.

RE - the TE comment. When Lingen got hurt, Leidner lost his security blanket.

I will say this with no qualms - if Lingen plays the entire season healthy, the Gophers would have won at least one more game and possibly two more.

We can all recite the list of games where the Gophers were literally one or two plays away from victory. A healthy Lingen could have made those plays.

Of course, it's all what if. If I had a 12-inch penis, I would be a famous porn star.

Nice to get them at home. Houston gone. Both backs gone. Best olineman gone. Others battling injury. Wheelwright gone. Biegel, Watt gone. Other linebackers battling injuries. Sojourn and Musso gone. Def coordinator gone. Hired unproven coach to replace. Hired an oline coach as lb coach.

PJ will have the team and the students, even the old farts, motivated out of their skins.

I know it's Wisconsin so you can never count them out but if they are losing all these pieces why were they ranked 10th in the coaches poll? What am I missing?

Predictions are mostly based on the previous year's ending Top 25. They finished ranked 9th. It's also based on the result of the last few years. Wisconsin had a good year last year, ended-up at 11-3. Previous 3 seasons were 10-3, 9-4 an 11-3 respectively.

Add that to a very reasonable schedule and the prediction is at least, understandable.

I was at the 2014 game at Camp Randall. Cobb was coming off a hammy injury, & the feeling was he wasn't gonna play. Then he warms up, and starts, and played great!
Playoff atmosphere!
In my mind that loss was coaching. Becky made better halftime adjustments. Good game to be in attendance tho...

Ran the read option successfully in the first half. Leidner didn't carry the ball in the second. Coaching cost the Gophers the game.

Lingen when healthy is better by far than any wisconsin TE. The key is keeping him healthy.

What? Fumagalli is considered one of the best TE's in the country and will likely be one of the first ones taken in next years draft.

-Houston and Hornibrook were basically equals. If Horni goes down they could be in trouble.
-They've had no problems replacing Running backs for 25 years. The back that most people thought was the best on the team had to sit a transfer year in '16 (Chris James)
-Ditto offense lineman. They lost what was considered their best O lineman just before the season started last year too (Voltz). They have been losing NFL quality lineman for the last 25 years, and they keep replacing them.
-LB's they have been replacing for the last 7-8 years without a drop-off too (Borland, Taylor, Armstrong, Schobert) . Two of their starters sat last year with injuries (Cichy and Orr)
-Sojourn is also being replaced with a transfer that stood out on the scout team, but had to sit because of a transfer (Nelson)
-Def Coordinator gone. Everyone said they were screwed when Aranda left. Then Wilcox came in and they got better. The OL coach you are talking about is coaching inside linebackers, the LB coach is still there.

Yes, all of these people could prove to be worse than their predecessors, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it. Wisconsin is at a point where they reload rather than rebuild. That is what good programs do. Plus their schedule appears easier. That is why they are in the top-10 to start the season.

Yup.

Ironically...even with the Mitch meltdown, we still had a chance to win. I think peavys run was with score tied deep in their own end.

Imho, we lost the game when Elmore went out. Winston D couldn't control the strong side to save his life on run plays and I thought Elmore wo ukd have snuffed that jet sweep out. WI punts. We get ball back w a chance to win.

O know Mitch imploded. But we still could have won that game.
