Who knows, we may indeed follow the Haley's Comet scenario. ( 75 years.) I believe the "Golden " moniker was attached to the Minnesota Gophers in the National Championship years.
You could argue the point, but the Gophers were the elite college football team in the land back then and had many follower's. If we can put the results on the field to go with the national exposure ,( Fleck ESPN series , increased coverage in the college rags , etc) why in the hell not us really being Golden again? If we were to win the West and play say the Buckeyes. Who do you think on a national scale the football fans would root for? Use your imagination from there.
