Is it just me or is the star level of our recruiting

It's a part of all my posts so I guess you randomly bringing it up didn't make any sense. I don't think I'm elite but I think both of those honors are definitely elite!

Nice...heaping more praise on yourself. It is so becoming of you.

Didn't quite pick up on the sarcasm or facetiousness of my post Spoofin. The poster seemed to think Fleck should just walk in here and beat the best MN recruiting class ever very soundly before coaching a game. The fact he's recruiting better than any Gopher football coach at this point in their tenure isn't good enough. It's a joke of a post.

My bad. I must have missed something. Won't be the last time.

Lord. I'm excited to have PJF as coach and think he will be successful, but can we let him coach at least one game here before we label him " far and away the best coach Gopher football has had in the last 50 years"?
Think of how ridiculous that statement is to make right now.

Clunky pivot, work on it, Tool. Work on your sarcasm as well, it's amateur at best. Fleck has yet to coach a game for the U.

Seems I got your panties in a bunch there St Paul guy.

Again, I was responding to another post that referenced comparing those two specific recruiting classes...as the OP does. What about my post do you think is a joke, specifically?

2011-18 CLASS COMPARISON
===========================

1) For better or worse I only used 247.
2) Kill/Claeys and Co. were good at finding RB and defensive diamonds.
3) Fleck got the Gophers being picked over Clemson in a multi-part feature on ESPN. It will be fun to see where recruiting ends up come signing day.
4) Interesting comparison: In 2011 Stanford pulled their offer to David Cobb, correct? Rivals lists Stanford. 247 doesn't.

That's a long post. Is there a way to spoiler the data sections of each year?

Fortunately, recruiting rankings are completely stable and accurate There is no fluctuation in who or how players are evaluated from year to year, so comparing classes from 2011 to 2018 gives you a complete and totally accurate point of comparison from which to continue these silly comparisons.

Fleck and Kill have different approaches, but since it has been deemed that winning the recruiting wars equals higher results in the standings, the ranking of our recruiting class (relatively from year to year, not comparing over years) is what matters. We're looking at finishing well into the bottom half of the conference ledger unless something dramatically changes.

February is a long ways off, and we have a season to play and that could dramatically impact the results so I don't understand all the hand-wringing in June and attempts to compare 2011 to 2018, but then again, getting worked up over the decision making process of 17-18 year old boys isn't something that I pin my hopes and dreams on either.

But getting worked up over the decision making process/success of 18-22 year old boys is?

Whatever you choose to get worked up over is your business, I do not judge.

The comment was directed to this thread not towards you specifically.

I'll be interested excited in what the coaches do on Saturdays this fall and what the signed class looks like in February.

Gotcha. That's pretty much where I stand.
