Mitch Leidner Update. Still working with Rich Gannon

For his career, he played in 47 games, won 29 games (most of any QB in school history), and leaves the school with most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 33; fourth among all players (all time). He is also third in passing yards, fifth in passing touchdowns, and is also the only Minnesota quarterback ever to pass and rush for 30 career touchdowns. The bar isn't real high but as a Gopher QB, he was pretty good.

So? That's more of an indication of how dire the QB's have been for the Gophers over the years. It boggles my mind how some can sit and defend Leidner as a good QB.

Some games he was good. other games he was not. the Leidner era is marked by inconsistency. Just when you thought "this guy is hopeless," he'd have a good game, or throw a really pretty deep ball for a big gain. He wasn't the best QB in Gopher history, but he wasn't the worst, either. Still, despite the inconsistency and flaws in his game, the Team won a decent amount of games during his career - more games than several other QB's won in their Gopher tenure.
