Over the last few weeks, there seems to be a bunch of activity between Jones, Oturu, Gabe and Jarvis on Twitter. Oturu seems to be trying to recruit those other 3. We already have Oturu and we probably can get Gabe and Jarvis. Would Tre stay home if he was on the same team that is dominating in AAU? And if we took Jarvis to get Tre, would we not take Race?

It probably is a dream, but getting those 4 is a really exciting idea. Thoughts?

Wouldnt read into the amount of twitter comments too much considering they are spendng more time travelng, practcing together than being w families these days.

per Marcus:

Oturu and Thomas make for one of the most athletic frontcourts in the EYBL. They both excel at blocking shots, rebounding, running the floor and finishing strong at the rim. Oturu is trying to get Jones and Kalscheur to join him at the U. Thomas said he hears it, too. He tries not to focus on if Minnesota will offer him.

"Daniel definitely is on me about that," Thomas said. "(Gophers assistant coach) Ben Johnson called me the other day and asked me if I want to come up to see their new facility. We just have to figure out a date. … It’s the home state, I try not to let it affect me. If the offer comes then it comes. I would evaluate it just like I would any other school."

He's definitely trying. They seemed to be having fun together yesterday. Thomas looks like Blake Griffin when playing Tre'. Word is--Race has the offer first.

Tre' is the factor that makes everyone special. He's so good in transition. I'd like to believe it could happen, I just don't know how he could say no to Duke.

Some pipe dreams do come true although I agree it's quite the long shot. I don't watch a lot of HS hoops but the only other MN kid I've seen play that had as much positive impact on the game as Tre is Khalid El-Amin. In my opinion, Tre will end up being a better player than Tyus.

Am I crazy for wanting Jarvis more than Race? I just like what Jarvis brings to the table. He's a better rebounder than Race, better defender, way more athletic, and can be effective without needing the ball in his hands. Race needs the ball in his hands to be an effective player. He doesn't bring much more than scoring to the table and he's not really a 3 or a 4 either. Also defensively, Race is a non factor as a rebounder, shot blocker, and not quick enough to stay in front of guys. I rather the 4 from Pulley and a 3 man from out of state

Tre and his future

If Tre is a one and done, he will be hard pressed to be a better college player than Tyus was in his one year of college. National championship and MVP!

But as far as pro potential, Tre is bigger, might be more athletic and probably does predict as a future NBA starter at some point.

I don't think either of them will ever be a significant NBA force.

I agree about the college angle...I was referring more to what Tre can become in the NBA. He is so good without the ball and his rebounding for his size is excellent.

I would take Race before Jarvis, but I can see the argument for Jarvis, I just think Race brings something to the table that we aren't getting from our current bigs, someone who could stretch the floor and be a match up nightmare. When I see race play I think about all of those stretch four's that use to kill us for Wisconsin. Thoms kinda sounds like a poor man's Rodney Williams, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If he's our 4th or 5th recruit I am okay with that

I agree with that to a certain extent. I don't think Race is as consistent of a jump shooter as those Wisconsin guys but can get there. One thing those Wisconsin guys do/did that Race doesn't is attack the glass. Thomas reminds me of Rodney but he's way stronger than Rodney was at the same stage. Either way I think I am finally fine with missing out on Race with a player Jarvis available. Especially if they work into a package deal with Gabe, Tre, Thomas, and Oturo. Two of those are top 40 players, and Gabe is a specialist who can defend.
