PG: Nate Mason
SG: Andre Hollins
SF: Amir Coffey
PF: Trevor Mbakwe
C: Reggie Lynch

Bench
PG: Al Nolen
CG: Lawrence Westbrook
SG: Blake Hoffarber
SG/SF: Austin Hollins
SF/PF: Damian Johnson
PF: Joey King
PF: Jordan Murphy
C: Mo Walker

For the last spot I went with King, for his 3-point shooting ability.

Hofarber should start, and Ralph Sampson should probably be on there. Frustrating player yes, but still 1000 points, 500 boards, 200 blocks for career

Yes, I know, Low bar

Rodney Williams over Joey King

Rodney was pretty effective when he played the 4 and was able to use his athleticism to get offensive rebounds and putbacks. I just think King's shooting ability would be a tough thing to leave off this team. If he had the benefit of playing with a guy like Lynch, his defensive shortcomings would have been masked instead of amplified.

PG:Nate Mason, Andre Hollins,
SG:Blake Hoffarber, Austin Hollins, Lawerence McKenzie (purely on the jr yr stats basis over Westbrook)
SF: Amir Coffey, Damion Johnson, Vincent Greir (Give me that 11th or 12th year back please)
PF:Trevor, Jordan
C: Sampson, Lynch(average double figures scoring and at least 0.5 ast and this would have been bumped up)

I'd trade Joey for Rodney and probably Mo for Sampson.

Guys like Devoe, Cobbs, Iverson and Royce could all make this too but I assume we are only considering what these guys did as gophers and not at other schools.

I really wish Rodney could have played under Pitino. Kid had a lot of potential, but never seemed to live up to it. I imagine he would have put on more muscle and been much more effective in a Pitino style offense.

This got me thinking about other Big Ten teams and how much better their 13 man lineups could be.

MSU
PG: Lucas, Trice, Appling
SG: Valentine, Forbes, Summers
SF: Bridges, Harris
PF: Green, Dawson
C: Payne, Ward

OSU
PG: Russell, Craft, Scott
SG: Thomas, Buford, Lighty
SF: Turner, Tate, Buford
PF: Ross, Loving
C: Sullenger, Williams

Michigan

PG: Burke, Morris, Walton
SG: Harris, Stauskas, Harwaway Jr
SF: Levert, Robinson III, Irvin
PF: Sims, Wilson
C: Wagner, McGary

Wisconsin

PG: Taylor, Brust
SG: Koenig, Jackson
SF: Decker, Hughes
PF: Luer, Hayes
C: Kaminsky, Happ

Purdue would have guys like Swannigan, JaJuan Johnson, Moore, Hummel, Hammons, Haas, Kramer,

A little light on the ball handling skillset in your list. I'd add D Mathieu and drop Austin for sure

If the goal is to win games (and not award career achievements) in a hypothetical scenario where every B1G team can play their best guys, I'd have something like this:

C: Trevor Mbakwe
PF: Royce White
SF: Damian Johnson
SG: Andre Hollins (Sophomore Year version)
PG: Nate Mason

Bench:
C: Reggie Lynch (could start Lynch and play above team in crunch time)
CG: Lawrence Westbrook (instant offense)
SG: Blake Hoffarber
SG: Austin Hollins (glue guy)
F: Rodney Williams
PG: Al Nolen
SF: Amir Coffey
C: Mo Walker(if post Offense is needed)

Not sure how I'd change this lineup as our backcourt is small and wouldn't defend well against the best guards of the last decade. Maybe start Austin Hollins, but then Nate Mason becomes the best shooter on the floor which would be a bigger issue. If you want to go pure defense, you could Reggie/Trevor/Damian/Austin/Al and just try to make the game ugly against the more talented rosters at Indiana/MSU/Michigan/OSU etc. Hopefully if this topic is suggested in 5 years we can come up with a roster that stacks up better to these schools.

A starting 5 of Nolen, Andre H., Austin H., Dame, and Mbakwe could go against any of the aforementioned other schools and have a very good shot at winning.

Yep.

I mean no offense, but I don't see this team staying close against MSU's team.

Just for fun here is my top 5 for Kentucky

PG: John Wall
SG: Eric Bledsoe
SF: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
PF: Karl Anthony Towns (homer pick over Cousins)
C: Anthony Davis
