Yup. If you're a projected 1st rounder you go.

Surprised Melo is leaving now, but is definitely a blow to next year's Maryland team.
 


Rickert syndrome.

That has to be a really tough decision for families. Even at his best, Rickert was going to be a late first rounder and then slid to the pity draft spot at the end of the second round. In Melo's case, my guess is he is not a big fan of school and wants to get on with his life. He may end up better off as an undrafted free agent with a little flexibility. I think he has enough range on his jumper to get a serious look in the right NBA system.
