per CBS:

The reigning college football national champions held tryouts recently for walk-on spots. One of the people hoping to make the team is 45-year-old Greg Morris.

He probably won’t make the cut -- the Post and Courier noted that Tigers coach Dabo Swinney “just smiled” when he was asked about Morris -- but in the event he does, he will become the oldest player to ever play for Clemson.

Morris has a football background as a former high school cornerback. Today, he is an ex-master electrician who is taking classes at Clemson in the interpreting program. The decision to try out for the football team started as a joke between him and his wife, yet here Morris is trying out for the team.

Go Gophers!!

Dabo is definitely underestimating Old Man strength.

I hope he has good insurance after his spine is rearranged.

Methinks the ol' sciatic nerve will cause fits the first day of calisthenics before any spine-jarring blow occurs.

Could be his ability to outsmart children will be the difference. You never know.

He better get a good orthopedist lined up and a good physical medicine doctor for long term treatment. There is a good reason why most pro athletes hang it up in their early thirties or sooner.

How many linebackers there that suffer miserably after their football playing days are over.
